FM Solutions, LLC announced today the availability of Six Sigma services for the facility management industry based on its WorkOasis? technology platform. The application of Lean Six Sigma in the property management area represents a $60 billion improvement opportunity for US corporations. The facility management function which includes processes for sourcing service contractors, handling service requests, and paying invoices, has been one of the least automated, measured and controlled functions within the enterprise. WorkOasis? combines "Lean" service techniques to shorten service transaction time and "Six Sigma" quality methods to better measure and control facility management processes, resulting in improved responsiveness and reduce cost.Corporate owners of large portfolios of distributed real estate will be able to contract with WorkOasis? to perform a Lean Six Sigma audit of their current processes and receive a detailed process map and assessment of their operations and improvement opportunities. WorkOasis? uses Six Sigma implementation partners and certified blackbelts to conduct the audits. Bob Dickhaus, founder of FM Solutions and WorkOasis? comments; "The application of Six Sigma techniques to the facility management function is a relatively new concept. Redesigning and automating paper based service processes can save corporate real estate owners 15-20% of their total operating budgets. Jim Phillips, Six Sigma blackbelt and Partner of Ogmacon Service, states; "More and more, the world's best companies rely on a common understanding of the facilities operations strategy throughout the organization. WorkOasis's approach of building competitive advantage through facility operational improvement cuts through the rhetoric and provides practical tools and concepts for building sound operating strategies that work."For more information contact Glenn Dorchester at (678) 627-8268 or visit www.workoasis.com.
Charlottesville Va. ? August 19, 2005 ? With so many theories chronicled over the past few years as to what makes a small Virginia real estate company so successful, one Charlottesville realtor has captured the idea best:"A super web site is any company's greatest asset. It doesn't make any difference whether the product is Charlottesville real estate or cosmetics. A company is only as good as the website it keeps."Charlottesville-Area-Real-Estate.com understands this concept completely, providing prospective Charlottesville real estate purchasers with the necessary tools to view all the available homes, learn all about the area and it's all of central Virginia's wonderful resources. And a recent transformation has enhanced Charlottesville-Area-Real-Estate.com's ability to operate and provide solutions in today's competitive real estate environment.Charlottesville-Area-Real-Estate.com, previously known for its outstanding service under the company name Virginia Fine Homes, has expanded its services, shifting from a bundled, one-stop web site for just Charlottesville real estate, to providing web searchers with all of Central Virginia's homes?on one web site: Charlottesville-Area-Real-Estate.com .There are five separate MLS's in the Central Virginia area; and to navigate each one is "a real bore.""So Charlottesville-Area-Real-Estate.com joined all 5 central Virginia's MLS's and designed an all-in-one search "by county" for the following central Virginia markets: Charlottesville, Lexington, Staunton and Waynesboro; and the counties of Albemarle, Augusta, Louisa, Greene, Madison, Rappahannock, Fauquier, Rockbridge, Culpeper, Buckingham, Goochland, Nelson, Orange and Amherst," said Charlottesville-Area-Real-Estate.com President Toby Beavers. We have specifically designed a product which we call ?Simple Real Estate Resource Viewing,' or SRERV, to address the needs of this market, typically overlooked by the larger national and global real estate firms. We feel strongly that this product will provide our Charlottesville area real estate customers with new and easier options to find the right home or Virginia farm quickly. "Because if you're not quick in this market, you lose." "The Charlottesville area real estate market is booming," Beavers says with a smile. "Ever since four major publications wrote up Charlottesville, Virginia as the number one place to live in America, not one...but two years in a row. Now you can't beat that!" With its innovative idea of "Simple Real Estate Resource Partnering", Charlottesville-Area-Real-Estate.com is able to identify all of the new listings instantly from all 5 MLS's and incorporate them onto one site. "All you need to know is what county you may want to look in."Charlottesville-Area-Real-Estate.com's main goal is to remain a respected leader in its industry and manage the complex and tedious searching to help prospective buyers meet their goals quickly."You do not have to use our Charlottesville realtors to use our free service," Beavers says. We actually list all the area's listing company's names after the desciption of each central Virginia home listing. So, if you want to contact the listing agent, go right ahead. You should be able to do so without making contact with a human being. Charlottesville-Area-Real-Estate.com believes that this it the right way to run a small, friendly, Virginia real estate company. It's high tech yet down-home & friendly. We know it's better to give than to recieve. Give the people what they want!!! Most buyers have no desire to talk with a realtor in the beginning of their search. They want to view homes peacefully and quickly. To think proactive instead of reactive when approaching real estate search issues is the "kindest, gentlest" way to go. People love it?especially women!Historically, companies were fearful of showing all their listings without a call to the agency. But with the high quality and professional services provided by Charlottesville-Area-Real-Estate.com, the Charlottesville real estate community has become comfortable with web searching. "If you are looking for horse farms for sale in Virginia, we have 30 of them. Virginia Historic homes?...Our specialty!"Taking an integrated approach, Charlottesville-Area-Real-Estate.com's vision with Simple Real Estate Resource Partnering is not to just apply a generic search box on their site for all various MLS's, but to be standing by to assist and analyze each customer's needs individually and provide a customized solution via email?as long as they want us to. We wait for the customers to call us! With a newfound emphasis on free real estate consulting, Charlottesville-Area-Real-Estate.com ? provides their clients with streamlined efficiency, increased productivity and profitable results. Charlottesville-Area-Real-Estate.com uses a deep resource pool of experts in such fields as real estate law, commercial real estate investing, fixer uppers, Virginia horse farms and new construction. In the competitive Charlottesville real estate environment where increased pressure and competition has become the status quo, Charlottesville real estate buyers can trust Charlottesville-Area-Real-Estate.com to leave the search tasks to us, leaving YOU free to focus on the big move.CONTACT INFORMATION:Charlottesville-Area-Real-Estate.com 937 Tilman Rd, Charlottesville Va, 22901.TEL: 888-673-7866FAX: 434-979-0005WEB: http://www.Charlottesville-Area-Real-Estate.com.

How Infopreneurs Can Produce $1,000 Pay Day's Offline, Even If You'veNever Done It Onlineby Alexis DawesCopyright 2004I've been selling my own self-published information products (mainlye-books) online for the past 3 years. Is it profitable? Definitely. But as any seasoned information marketer will vouch, it takes time to build up your name recognition online. You'll have to spend considerable effort to develop word-of-mouth web site traffic. It's rare that you start off making $1,000 a day.But offline it's an entirely different story. In the real world, when people meet face-to-face, a 10-minuteconversation with a prospect can lead to a $1,000 sale.I know this from first-hand experience. You see I've been in thatposition several times. How? I'm an author who uses Quickie Seminars to sell my information products. What is a Quickie Seminar you ask? It's a 3-hour talk that you give based around the topic of yourinformation product. If you sell DVD's that teach people how topaint murals, your Quickie Seminar would in turn offer similarinformational content.Quickie Seminars are delightful tools for infopreneurs becausethey can provide you with a same day pay day.You give a Quickie Seminar on Tuesday, you can take home $200-$5,000 on Tuesday.Best of all, your competition is slight, if any. ---------------------How One Stay-at-Home Mom Uses Quickie Seminars to Make a Years Worth of Salary in 20 Days---------------------I once attended a 3-hour seminar given by a writer named Stacy Banner. Stacy only managed to herd her audience into $1,100 in information product sales that night. However this was just one night from her 10-day Quickie Seminar tour. She confided in me that by the end of her tour she expects to bring home $15,000-$20,000. In fact, she does these seminars twice a year. They allow her to be a stay-at-home mom, while only working a measly 20 days out of the year. ---------------------Take Advantage of the Quickie Seminar Circuit by Following These4 Steps...---------------------1) Choose a topic that you've created information products around. Almost any topic will do. Arts, photography, real estate, business, travel, writing, personal development, spirituality, computers, the Internet, take your pick.2) Pitch your talk to seminar centers around the US that are always looking for new experts. These companies provide the room, the audience, and they will actively promote your seminar. Plus you'll get paid for giving the seminar. The most popular seminar center is The Learning Annex. The Learning Annex is one of the largest producers of seminars, lectures, classes and workshops throughout the United States. They have centers in San Francisco, Seattle, Los Angeles, San Diego, Chicago, New Jersey, New York, and Minneapolis. Altogether they produce more than 8,000 events a year.If you'd like to suggest a seminar to The Learning Annex, e-mail (Newcourse@LearningAnnex.com) a course description (no more than 1 page) outlining the topic you would like to teach, the title of the class, and the city you would like to teach in. Include a current resume or background information illustrating your qualifications. You will be contacted within 4-6 weeks if they're interested.3) Present the seminar and sell your information products to the audience. 4) Happily take your profits home, or move on to the next city.---------------------Whoa! Take Off Those Rose Colored Sunglasses...---------------------As easy as all of this sounds, there are some major snafus that unseasoned quickie seminar initiates commit. Some infopreneurs do a hard sell. They talk about their book during the entire seminar, constantly referencing pages, and telling the audience, "Well I won't talk about that right now... but it is in my book." This makes audience members feel like they MUST buy your book. That's no good!Audience members come for helpful, solid information. Give them what they cam for, and they'll bless you with sales. No hard sellis required.Other infopreneurs don't accept credit cards. Big mistake. One thingyou'll quickly discover is that most people want to pay by creditcard. This is especially true if you're selling more than one item. And still others situate their sales table on a less frequentlytraveled path. Place your products on a table within the path of the bathroom, water cooler, or the exit. The more people are required to passyour stuff, the more likely they are to stop, look and buy.So what are you waiting for? This is one marketing and business segment that isn't oversaturated with a ton of competitors. Get started today and YOU can completely dominate your niche on the Quickie Seminar circuit. But the only way to win this game is by getting out there and playing it.-------------------------------------------------Alexis Dawes is the author of "Speaking For Profit: How to ProfitablyUse the Platform to Make $200-$10,000 a Night Giving 3-Hour Seminars."This 115+ page e-book gives detailed information on how to fullyuse the Quickie Seminar Tactic to boost your profits.http://www.Speaking-For-Profit.com.

Q. Does a friendship quiz really work?A. That depends upon what results you are seeking from a friendship quiz. If you are seeking to learn how to become a better friend, then the real results are found more in understanding the lessons that are hidden in the question rather than trying to pick the right answer. In fact, if the friendship quiz is well designed, the answer to each question will be very apparent without even having to guess. There are certain well-defined traits that make a person a good friend, and there are other "variable" issues that get thrown into the mix. Some of the well-defined traits include loyalty, honesty, the ability to listen, and the ability to understand your friend's feelings. A friendship quiz should give you a way to measure whether or not you have those traits. These kinds of well-defined traits are easy to work into a friendship quiz. What's not so easy are the "variable" traits that I mentioned. For example, knowing when to "butt out" of your friend's business is a trait that no friendship quiz can measure. Likewise, knowing when to say "No" to a friend's request is another vague concept that no friendship quiz is likely to be able to quantify. The real issue is: Do you actually need to take a friendship quiz to figure out if you are a good friend? Maybe yes, maybe no. If you think of the friendship quiz as a "checklist", then you can run down that checklist to see if you seem to be meeting the basic requirements. However, if you "fail" the friendship quiz that doesn't mean that you aren't a good friend. A friendship quiz, like any quiz, has a built-in bias since it measures what the quiz's author thinks are valuable traits of friendship. The author may be all wrong in that the friendship quiz may measure things that aren't important to you and your friends. My advice is to consider a friendship quiz as an "entertainment only" device and not something that will cause you to become a hermit if you don't score 100%.The best friendship quiz is one that only your head and your heart knows the answers to. Treat your friends like you would want to be treated and you won't need a friendship quiz to keep score..

Montreal, Quebec (ContentDesk) July 29, 2005 ?- Based in Mesa, Arizona, the SouthEast Valley Regional Association of Realtors (SEVRAR) and Montreal based DataWind Net Access Corporation officially announced the availability of the PocketSurfer? Web viewer to SEVRAR members. Real estate information access has become truly ubiquitous and more convenient for REALTORS? with the PocketSurfer? Web viewer, a first-of-its-kind dedicated wireless Web viewer that provides fast, affordable, full wireless Web access ? just like at work or at home ? in the palm of a hand. The PocketSurfer? Web viewer provides Internet access to listing data including photos, maps and directions ? the full desktop web experience in a mobile environment. Along with accessing Multiple Listing Service (MLS) data anytime, and anywhere, by being able to access current mortgage information or financial calculators, mapping information and e-mail, Real Estate professionals are able to increase productivity, letting them spend less time in the office and more time with their customers. The PocketSurfer? Web viewer provides access to unlimited live and continually updated web-based MLS data from anywhere across the country, without the need for complicated daily 'hot-synching,' or being limited to a select few MLS locations. Traditionally wireless solutions for realtors have been limited to bulky, expensive handhelds that deliver content slowly, a limited number of fields and typically require a learning curve to master the equipment and procedures. Based on patented breakthrough technology, the PocketSurfer eliminates all such obstacles, offering a full Web experience in a matter of seconds, faster than any other PDA or other wireless device on an existing cellular network. As the first complete, yet truly mobile, view of the Web, the PocketSurfer's larger screen delivers an experience similar to that of the desktop ? through a full VGA-width, 640-pixel, color screen, compared to 320 pixels on most PDAs and 120 pixels on most wireless phones. It provides full, unaltered Web access without 'scrunching' content through Web clipping, transcoding or reformatting. PocketSurfer users are able to access the Web in its original HTML content, with the original layout and full graphics in seconds.Unlike anything on the market today, the PocketSurfer delivers, even in today's low bandwidth wireless environment, full and fast access. Using Bluetooth? wireless technology, the device connects wirelessly to the handset and access is provided through virtually any wireless network provider. The PocketSurfer Web viewer gives REALTORS? a competitive advantage by allowing them to spend more time in the field, prospecting, listing and selling. Since this revolutionary mobile real estate solution is not limited by geography, it helps Realtors increase customer satisfaction by responding quickly with information and full graphics that their customers need."As President of Sevrar's Board of Directors we are constantly on the watch for tools which will help make our members more effective in the field working with Clients, and we want to partner to save money with vendors for our members," said Duane Washkowiak of SEVRAR. "This tool to access MLS helps to meet that goal." "It's the real Web as people have come to experience it ? and expect it ? on their desktop," said Suneet S. Tuli, CEO of DataWind. "The PocketSurfer Web viewer provides the freedom to fully use the Internet from anywhere, a car, a hotel, the airport, or while showing properties to a customer ? all from an innovative device that's small enough to fit in your pocket."
Some experts say NEVER bother with resume objectives. While others say they should be an essential element onevery resume. So, how do you know who is right? The simple answer is... no one is absolutely right.Your decision on whether to use resume objectives willdepend on your circumstances, job search goals, and?insome cases?the person who reviews your resume. We can make recommendations, but you'll have to makeyour own choice, based on your individual situation andpreferences. But first, let's try to get a betterunderstanding of the 2 different schools of thought onresume objectives...THE NEGATIVE VIEWPOINTAsk anyone who does not believe in using job objectiveson resumes why, and they'll tell you it's becauseresume objectives are so often self-serving. In otherwords, they say what you want, but they usually fail tosay how this is relevant to the employer. You see, thecompany that hires you is more interested in thepotential benefits you'll bring to the organization, not how they can help you achieve your goals.Another problem is that a narrowly stated resumeobjective can be limiting. The company may not evenconsider you for a position you'd love if you haveclearly stated in your objective that you're onlyinterested in one type of job. Finally, most resume objectives are so vague as to bemeaningless. Why waste valuable resume real estate withsomething that will not help (and may harm) your questtowards obtaining the coveted interview?ON THE OTHER HAND...There are many resume writing experts who passionatelybelieve in using resume objectives. They cite the factthat employers want to be able to tell ? in just a fewseconds ? what job you want to do for the company andwhat skills you bring to the table. There is also a school of thought that says the lack ofa written resume objective translates into a jobapplicant who doesn't really know what he or she wants. Also, if you have a long or diverse job history, resumeobjectives can help sharpen the focus of your resume. This is also true if you are trying to switch to acareer that is not strongly supported by yourexperience. If you do decide to use a resume objective, though, youmust make sure that it is not self-serving or toolimiting, and that it is uniquely stated. Make itspecific and work to reflect the employer'sperspective, not your own. Demonstrate the value you'llbring to the organization.ONE MORE OPTION An alternative to using resumeobjectives is to substitute one of the following at thetop of your resume:* Power statement. This is a summarization ? in 1sentence ? of your most notable skills andaccomplishments, items that are sure to arouse interestin a prospective employer. For example, "Highly-motivated, competent, and organized AdministrativeSupport professional with a proven track record ofteambuilding communications, resourceful problem-solving, and technical expertise."* Profile or Career Summary. This is similar to a powerstatement, but might be 3 or 4 lines/1 to 2 sentences. It could even be bullet points. But the main intent isto highlight your main career accomplishments to date.In the end, whether or not to use resume objectives isa highly personalized decision. But if you do use one, keep in mind that employers are mainly interested inwhat you can do for them. So be sure that your resumeobjective is employer- oriented and results-focused. Dothis well, and you'll be on your way to your nextinterview!.

Owning a home is the original American dream. It's the old frontier spirit, wanting to claim your own tuft of the New World. Then again, these days it also makes perfect economic sense. Experts estimate that all of the homes in the United States alone are worth a combined $14 trillion. That goes a long way to explain why a housing boom has been sweeping the globe. Where there is a boom, though, there may be a bust. Read any headline from your local newspaper, and you'll see headlines such as "Bye-Bye, Housing Boom" to "Housing Boom is Leveling Off." Some economic forecasters predict a bubble that may be about to burst. They make you wonder: am I missing the boat?Whether you're looking to cash in on this real estate bubble before it pops?or simply wanting to move to a bigger home or move across the country?selling your home can be more a nightmare than a dream. Not only do you have to find and trust a real estate agent. You need to prep your home for open houses. You need to haggle with prospective buyers. Not to mention, you have to worry about the moving and selling of all of your valuables. It's almost enough to make you want to live in one home for the rest of your life?just as folks did in your grandparents' day. Then again, your home is worth a percentage of that $14 trillion. Don't you want to see just how much?As hectic and horrible as selling a home may seem, it really isn't so bad if you break it down into a few simple rules. If you don't believe us, read the rules for yourself.Fuss over the fa?ade. Your home's future owners do not want to worry about repairs and renovations as soon as they move in. So make certain they don't. Be sure to have your home immaculately clean before you invite prospective buyers over. Redecorate if your interior is outdated. And invest in minor renovations if necessary. You'd be surprised what a coat of paint can do.Focus on the fine details. Prospective buyers will leave no stone unturned when they visit your home. They will test every light switch, run every faucet, and lift up every toilet seat. Everything?and we mean everything?should be in working order before your open house.Double check for blown out light bulbs and leaky faucets. Scrub the bathroom and clean up any ring around the bowl, tub scum, and any other nasty surprise.Don't settle for maybes on safety. Ensure that there are no safety hazards anywhere on your property. Something as small as uncovered electrical sockets or as large as an unfenced pool can scare off buyers, especially parents of small children.Create a soothing selling atmosphere. Imagine the last time you visited a bed and breakfast. Your home should be as welcoming and accommodating as that. One easy way to accomplish this is by brightening up the place. Turn on all your lights for your visitors. Plus, fluff up your bedroom. After all, most people want the bedroom to be the most comfortable spot in the house. Make sure it is?at least when buyers are around.Clear the joint. Along with the last rule, there is the standard real estate practice of vacating the premises when buyers come for tours. This is done for good reason. Buyers are there to evaluate your home, not meet your sisters, sons, cousins, and cats. So send your family to the mall for a day of shopping, or to the park for a picnic.Cut the clutter. All of your stuff can get in the way, too. That's why it's important to start packing and storing your personal belongings as soon as you know you're going to move. An empty house is a cleaner looking house is a more attractive house. You don't want your perspective buyer opening a closet and having a bowling ball fall on their head, do you?Make a killing on said clutter. One option is to simply move your personal items to your new home and create instant clutter there. That's the way of the pack rat. Or, you could sell what you no longer need and turn a quick profit. That's the way of the fat cat.If you choose wisely?the latter option?be sure not to hold your garage sale on the same days as your open houses. Neighbors in their undershirts and jeans on your front lawn do make for a great sales ploy. Instead, it makes you look desperate and could hurt you come negotiations. Schedule your yard sale on separate days.Better yet, sell your goods online. Classified Web sites allow you to negotiate with potential buyers, get the best rates for your stuff, and ship it off at your own convenience. And it's all accomplished on your own time, inside your own home (where you can wear your undershirt and jeans and no one will care).Take a deep breath. Lastly, never let the home-selling experience overwhelm you. Sure, there are a load of responsibilities to take care of. But that is what your real estate agent is there for. They handle all of the grunt work. They do all of the hard talking with the buyer. They make all the follow-up calls. And they showcase your home for you. Your job is just to smile, be polite, and answer the buyer's questions if they come up..
